Wellers. So my computer arrived in Vancouver today. And I bought a scanner. I am thus far very pleased with the results scanning the black and white films. I have a couple minor complaints, but I think they are mostly software related: Silverfast would be a nice addition to this this little guy, and more than just Photoshop Elements would be a HUGE bonus.. but. This is the life, and these don’t look super bad do they?

Anyways, tomorrow if I decide I want to be a wordsmith, I’ll detail with my plans for regular updates and things on this here blog, and feature days! I HAVE SAID TO MUCH.

And I’m too tired to do anything else right now.

Google able to search Images

Well. I don’t usually makes posts without an image or video, but this one seems pretty warranted, it’s also the reason I need to make time to keep up on industry type things, by reading sites like APE more often.

Case in point, The Google has started to have the ability to search images. That is, drag and drop an image from somewhere, pow, shows you what webpages it appears on. Putting a few images of my own that were kicking around my desktop yielded only my own webpage as a result, but the search is good enough that it brought back: the main page of my site, the post title page (permalink) and even the archived link by month. Again, lucky for me my site was the only result brought back (at least, for the few images I put through as a ‘test run’. APE has the articles on the announcement and another recent one particular to copyright issues you could use as a starting point if you happen to discover your images being used somewhere else illegally. Get to it!

Thanks SnA, when I get back to Vancouver, promises of my own content, photos even! Buying a scanner the day I get back.

Oh, and update on my bike trip: 683kms over four days last week, Newmarket to Montreal, with a small detour (getting lost) around half of Ille Perrot. Awesome! Pretty excited to get back riding with people on the weekends though; and even more excited to rebuild my rear wheel on the road bike and also get the track bike back on the… track.

I know this has already made the rounds on A.P.E. and Jazzpush, but seriously, the words coming out of H.C.B.’s mouth are incredible (and obviously his life’s work).

A few gems…

“Life is once, forever”

“at a certain age, you get the face you deserve”

“you have to milk the cow quite a lot, and get plenty of milk to get a little cheese”

It’s been a while..

Well. It’s been a while since I’ve posted ANYTHING. And I guess I’ll get back at it robbing some content. Content robbed from Paved Mag, a magazine I recently discovered, of all places, at the airport. You see, I’m typing this from my Brother’s old room in my parent’s Newmarket house.

I have a great number of things to say and to talk about, but I kinda want to refuse to do so until I have some content of my own, and actually I just want to talk to my friends in and around the GTA in real-life, because, you know. RL.
