TailBlock and Five Feet of Air

CASE OF BEER WORTHY

I had to buy him a case of beer when he made this. Totally worth it. Hughes Lauzier Tailblock on the hip.

And I was going to post this another time, but here it is anyways! Five foot FrontSide Air at Kensignton.

SERIOUSLY HE WAS LEVEL WITH THE CAMERA WHICH I WAS HOLDING AT MY CHEST

HELL YEAHS KID IS FIFTEEN

James Clark, AKA Frontside Kid. I really do like the old Minolta I shot this on. Besides it’s familial and familiar history with me, it’s a really capable camera I’ve realised since I’ve learned to properly use a camera. I mean, I bought my Nikon before I REALLY knew how to use a camera properly. Most of the learning I did through schooling I used the Nikon, and moved onto larger formats. But keeping the Minolta in my work bag means I’m making a lot of use of it. Anyways. I like it, I like being restricted to one lens, I like how that shapes your images, and I like how comfortable it is in my hands.

The one below however, was taken with the Nikon. On the way to Victoria, for one of the most fun weekends in recent memory. Skytrain to Surrey, ride to Tsawwassen, ferry to Schwartz Bay, ride to Victoria, race, wake up the next morning and ride back. Super Awesome.

AND THEY ARE OFF

CAN’T WRITE BEING KICKED OUT OF THE LAB FOR THE NIGHT.

EDIT:// I have constructed the most sophisticated of web animations, an animated GIF file, of the sequence of images from where the above image came. It’s right here. Or now you can click above on the photo.

Ethan Miller and George Faulkner made a short video at one of the night sessions. I mean, last Wednesday’s night session. You can see me in ridiculous blue shorts standing on the deck!

I NEED TO REMEMBER TO LOOK FOR THE DEETS

I am listening to records and inhaling delicious scents coming from the kitchen. I am excited to start some projects.

HE IS A REALLY NICE GUY

WHAT A NICE DUDER

Went into Might Riders on Broadway this morning to shoot a portrait of a Geoff ‘Nice Guy’ MacDonald. He’s leaving for some worldly adventures next week and I thought I’d take the chance to take his picture while I had it. I actually had to repair my camera at the bike shop when I got there, because I am ghetto like that. But I’d like to see you fix your DSLR in a bike shop! ha!

Kinda pooched the focus on this, and quite a few others from the Old Man Skate Jam Two weekends ago, but James’ high five is still worth posting. Especially since I just made it smaller so it doesn’t look as out of focus! Look how stoked he looks!

HIGH FIVE? GET IT? HE'S HIGH OUTTA THERE...

Oh! And the night sessions are starting to just go off all kinds of hooks. Dylan Doubt was there last night and made a sweet little post on his blog on the Color website. And there’s a picture of me! Stoked!

And here’s my bike from this morning.

I LIKE WHEN MY TRACK BIKE LOOKS LIKE A TRACK BIKE SOMETIMES

HOLY TURKEY WEEKEND

SO NEAT AND TIDY

My roommate Nate came in late one night, a little….well oiled. And for some reason in the morning we discovered his sweater neatly folded and placed with his shoes in the middle of an otherwise bare kitchen floor. He doesn’t remember how this happened. Awesome.

We had some delicious Turkey BLANKETED IN BACON courtesy of Yvonne. She spent all day in the kitchen and made a TON of food for like 14 people. She decided to do this ALL THE DAY BEFORE. She is apparently insane, but able to cook insane amounts of insanely delicious foodstuffs.

GALLERY DE ART

Oh and I meant to make a post yesterday, so now I’m a little late, but HAPPY 10-9 to all the couriers out there! If you don’t know what 10-9 is, go here. So he’s a couple more couriers!
